My name is Sheena Booth and I have been involved in the art world for years.
Having completed a degree in fine arts in the 70's, I worked for a number of years in art therapy
and still teach and encourage students of all abilities today.
The glass engraving came about quite by accident when, as part of my other great love, showing, breeding and judging Great Danes, I was asked to judge a Breed Club show. I wanted to present my winners with a beautiful memento of their win, but all the reasonably priced trophies I could find were cheap and tacky looking plastic affairs!
So I decided to see if I could 'draw' a picture of a Great Danes' head on a lovely crystal vase I had.
It turned out not too bad! Others thought the same and pretty soon I was inundated with requests from other Judges, Breed Clubs and Dane fanciers keen to buy these 'Drawings on glass'.
I thought I had better go and learn how to do it properly! and so, my education in glass engraving began.
Now, some years on, I have attended many seminars and courses and two years ago joined the 'Guild of Glass Engravers'.
